Looking for a unique academic experience at one of the best international schools in Spain? Choose Judy Sharp International School! Our personalized curriculum is designed for small groups of 1–9 students, giving each student the individual attention they need to succeed. We believe in helping every student achieve their own personal success, no matter what their journey may be. Join us at Judy Sharp International for a truly exceptional educational experience!
Our students have a full-time schedule from 9:30 to 15:30, with six 50-minute teaching periods and a lunch break.
For Middle School students, grades 6–8, we offer an individualized program that focuses on building the student's basic skills, such as decoding, written expression, and math skills. We also cover core subjects like Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, and Reading. Our average teacher-to-student ratio is 1:4, with the average class size being only 5 students. Students also have the opportunity to begin the Official Spanish ESO Program, which is accredited by the Comunidad de Madrid.
For High School students, grades 9–12, we follow a fully accredited U.S. high school curriculum with a minimum requirement of 22 credits. Required units of credit include four English, three Math, four Social Sciences, three Sciences, and four elective courses. We offer elective units like Psychology, Economics, Philosophy/Ethics, Current Events, Art History, and more! These electives change every year depending on students needs and interests. Students may transfer credits earned at other schools. Upon completing the graduation requirements, we award a American high school diploma, and students who participated in the Official Spanish Program can have their studies recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Education to obtain official ESO and/or Bachillerato certificates.
Fine and Performing Arts and Physical Education are also integral parts of our
curriculum, bringing the entire school together and providing opportunities for students
of different grades to interact. We also offer various after-school extracurricular activities.
Our graduates have gone on to continue their education at institutions of higher education around the world, including The School of Visual Arts (New York), Hofstra University (New York), Lynn University (Florida), The University of Calgary, Saint Louis University, Suffolk University, the College for International Studies (CIS), CEU San Pablo, University of Arizona, and University of York, among many others.
Many families can find it difficult to obtain the support they need for their child's individual needs. Our school offers that support and has extensive experience working with children with learning difficulties, from ADHD (TDAH) to dyslexia (dislexia), dyscalculia (discalculia), and high functioning students on the autism spectrum (trastorno del espectro autista). While we are much more than just a "special education" school in Madrid, we do have years of experience working with these students.
